  • Located in Hoàn Kiếm District, Hanoi
  • Address: 15 Ngo Quyen Street, Hoàn Kiếm District, 10000, Hanoi
  • How to get to the hotel from the airport: the hotel offers luxury
  • Reservations: can be made online at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi website here, or through other hotel booking websites.
  • Rates: The room rates start from about $280 USD/night. But the rates vary depending on the season, type of room, as well as the number of people staying in the room, so it’s best to check out the rates from the hotel website or other hotel booking websites.
    • The hotel is divided into two wings –  Opera wing (modern look) and Metropole wing (historic look). So when you are booking, you will have to choose which wing you want to stay in. I stayed in the opera wing as I liked the modern decor combined with French looks. For more pictures of the rooms, click here.
    • When I booked mine, I booked the Magnifique Breakfast package, which includes breakfast buffet for two people. The food was delicious and I definitely recommend this package.
  • Unique facts about Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi:
  • OVERALL: I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Hanoi and are looking for quiet and relaxing stay in Hanoi away from the busy streets of Hanoi. The hotel has so much history and all the details of the hotel were gorgeous. A lot of the local Vietnamese couples take wedding photos at the hotel, because the architecture of the hotel is beautiful and picturesque.
    • The hotel also offers lots of free services only available to hotel guests such as free yoga classes in the morning and daily historical tour of the hotel. I highly recommend the historical tour of the hotel as you can learn a lot about the history of Hanoi and how the hotel played a big role during the Vietnam war. During the tour, they also take you down to the area, where the hotel guests stayed during the Vietnam war bombings.
    • The service at the hotel was very good and better than any other 5 star hotel I’ve been to in North America. And everything was so neat/clean! – Ex. For the lobby washroom, there was a cleaning staff cleaning the lobby washroom every time someone uses it.
    • The food at the hotel was the best food I had in Hanoi –  I tried the breakfast at Le Beaulieu and also light dinner at Le Club bar and both were very good. As mentioned above, I highly recommend getting the Magnifique Breakfast package for the hotel, which includes breakfast for two during your stay.
    • I also liked the fact that they had Lanvin amenities in the washroom and love the red tiles in the opera wing washroom.
    • The hotel is very expensive according to Hanoi hotel standards, but is quite average when compared to a North American hotel or any of the bigger cities in Asia like Hong Kong and Singapore.
