  1. Hello! I chanced upon ur blog while doing a search on The mall Florence in Google :) and started reading ur entries on ur travels in Europe! I intend to visit the Cinque Terre villagers for my upcoming trip to Florence. Can I ask u the following qns:
    – how to travel from Florence to Cinque Terre?
    – is it possible to cover all the villages in 1 day, as I intend to make a day trip frm Florence to Cinque Terre ?
    – do u hop on and off the train to cover each village?

Lastly, did u visit Venice? Where would u recommend must-visits sites in Venice?

Thanks in advance for answering my qns! :)

    • Hi!
      – To get to Cinque Terre, you can take a train from Florence (Firenze S.M.N. station) to La Spezia. You can book this in advance from trenitalia.com. From La Spezia, you can get the Cinque Terre card, which will allow you to visit all 5 villages of Cinque Terre by train.
      – It is possible to do cover all villages in a day by doing a daytrip from Florence, but you will have to leave super early in the morning and your day will be very packed. I personally think it’s better to stay overnight in Cinque Terre for one night instead of doing a daytrip, so that you are not too restricted with time when you are visiting each of the villages.
      – You can hop on and off the train to cover each village or walk from one village to another (there’s trekking routes all throughout Cinque Terre). If you plan on trekking, then it might be hard to cover all of the villages in one day as it will take more time to trek than to visit each village by train.
      – I have been to Venice before as well. I recommend visiting Murano and Burano islands. You can get to these islands by the boat buses and I personally think thought that these islands had more charm than Venice. You can see photos of Burano from my blog post here: https://escapewithstyle.com/2013/04/19/burano-italy-in-photos/

Hope this helps with your trip planning!
